HG IBO #02 EB-06 Graze Standard Type/Commander Type

$13.99

The Graze is Gjallarhorn’s latest mass production Mobile Suit, filling out their ranks during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Gjallarhorn derived Graze’s Frame from the Calamity War-era Valkyrja Frame, using more accessible materials to reduce production costs. The Graze Frame also supports additional equipment packs, allowing the Mobile Suit to fill various combat roles. The Graze parallels the Universal Century MS-06 Zaku II, as both Mobile Suits share the “06” model number, a single head sensor, a green color scheme, and high production numbers. The Graze’s inexpensive production and combat versatility made it the perfect Mobile Suit to fill out the ranks of Gjallarhorn’s expansive military. This model kit provides one Graze unit with a selection of parts to customize your Graze unit.

Here’s what Bandai included alongside the Graze for accessories:

  • GR-W01 120mm Rifle
  • GR-H01 9.8m Battle Axe
  • Thruster Unit x2
  • Waist Adapter for Thruster Unit

Articulation
 –

This model was the first HG IBO model to feature the Graze Frame! The Graze Frame provides a satisfying and straightforward build with double-jointed knees, swiveling thighs, and chest articulation, giving the model a more dynamic look. HG IBO models such as the McGillis Schwalbe Graze also use the Graze Frame and therefore share their internal construction with the Graze Standard Type/Commander Type. While reusing parts may seem like cost-cutting, it’s in line with Post Disaster Timeline lore and makes customization incredibly easy! You can swap in new armor panels from other HG IBO models sharing the Graze frame to give your Graze unit a unique appearance.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Like the Graze’s Universal Century sister, the MS-06 Zaku II, it sorties with a standard loadout, including a basic ballistic rifle and an ax-shaped melee weapon. Unlike the Zaku’s Heat Hawk, the Graze’s GR-H02 9.8m Battle Axe does not feature a superheating blade to slice through its targets. Instead, the weapon relies purely on the force of impact to disable its targets. This model also includes optional thrusters for the Graze. You can use these along with some purple paint to recreate the space type variant of the Graze, or you can attach them to the unit’s waist, as seen in Gjallarhorn’s initial assault of CGS on the surface of Mars.

This kit includes:

6 Runners total (A, B, C, D1, D2, PC002)
Total Piece Count – 119 with 7 Unused Parts
Foil Stickers
Materials – PS, PE

HG IBO #02 Graze Standard Type and Commander Type

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #02 Graze Standard Type and Commander Type with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
