HG IBO #11 ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris

$13.99

The Gundam Kimaris is one of Gjallarhorn’s surviving Gundam Frames from the Calamity War fought 300 years before the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Gundam Kimaris belongs to the Bauduin Family, the ancestors of the Mobile Suit’s original pilot and members of Gjallarhorn’s Seven Stars. Gundam Kimaris sat dormant in the Bauduin Family Treasury until reentering service to replace Gaelio Bauduin’s Schwalbe Graze after fighting against Tekkadan. The Gundam Kimaris excels in close quarters combat, despite being one of the heftiest configurations of the Gundam Frame. To counter its increased mass, Gjallarhorn covered the surface of Gundam Kimaris’s armor in vernier thrusters.

Included alongside the Gundam Kimaris for accessories:

  • Gungnir Lance
  • Combat Knife

Articulation
 –

Gundam Kimaris uses the same internal construction as the rest of the HG IBO Gundams, so building Gundam Kimaris will be pretty familiar if you’ve assembled other HG IBO models before. While this may seem like purely cost-cutting, it is in line with the Post-Disaster timeline lore. The Gundam Kimaris’s frame comes molded in a unique purple color, paying homage to some of the early HGUC entries from Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, such as the HGUC #33 RMS-099 Rick Dias Quatro Custom. The Gundam Kimaris features a unique gimmick that reveals High-output Leg Boosters hidden within the Mobile Suit’s leg armor.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Gundam Kimaris’s primary weapon is the Gungnir Lance, named after Odin’s spear in Norse mythology. With Gungnir, Gundam Kimaris excelled in hit-and-run tactics, ramming into enemies at high speeds thanks to the Mobile Suit’s impressive mobility. There are two 120mm cannons built into the Gungnir faithfully recreated in molded detail. The Gundam Kimaris also sorties with a folding Combat Knife attached to its back skirt armor for more precise engagements. You can use the HG IBA #04 Option Set 4 to give your Gundam Kimaris the same booster pack seen in the anime.

HG IBO #11 Gundam Kimaris

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #11 Gundam Kimaris with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
