HG IBO #18 EB-AX2 Graze Ein

$17.99

The Graze Ein is an experimental Mobile Suit created by Gjallarhorn to research the Alaya-Vijnana System and its combat applications, despite their stance against modified soldiers. Gjallarhorn’s research began long before the Graze Ein saw combat (likely referring to the prototype with a different name) but halted due to a lack of pilots willing to undergo the invasive Alaya-Vijnana System installation surgery. McGillis Fareed succeeded in convincing Gjallarhorn to use Ein Dalton, who was on the brink of death, as the pilot of the Graze Ein. Ein would go through a lengthy procedure, saving his life, but forever fusing him with the Mobile Suit and the Alaya-Vijnana System. The Graze Ein stands much taller than the Graze Standard Type, as Gjallarhorn’s designers felt the Graze Ein’s proportions should better reflect the human body to increase the efficiency of the Alaya-Vijnana System. This increase in height couples with the Alaya-Vijnana’s massive boost in performance to make the Graze Ein a fearsome foe.

Here’s what Bandai included alongside the Graze Ein for accessories:

  • Custom Large Axe x2
  • Drill Kick Foot x2
  • Shoulder Cannon x2

Articulation –

The Graze Ein borrows some parts from the original HG Graze Frame but relies on new components to give the model its increased stature. Many of these new parts are rather large but do not inhibit Graze Ein’s range of motion. The Graze Ein even features new articulated thrusters on the back of its legs, making the giant much more agile than it would appear. The Graze Ein has two head sensor modes, recreated through a part-relocation gimmick. Attached to the Mobile Suits back is an articulated arm made to hold both axes, which swings forward to bring the ax handles within Graze Ein’s grasp.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Both of the Custom Large Axes snap into Graze Ein’s hands for a satisfying and sturdy connection, making posing all that much easier! For engaging targets out of an ax throw’s reach, Graze Ein uses a set of 40mm Machine Guns. These hidden weapons deploy from the protrusions in Graze Ein’s shoulder armor, recreated with additional parts. Bandai also provided extra feet to pose Graze Ein, performing a powerful Drill Kick attack. Graze Ein can also rotate its manipulators at high speeds for a “Screw Punch,” but the hands do not transform for this attack.

8 Runners total (A, B, C, D1, D2, E, F, PC002)

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #18 Graze Ein with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
