HG IBO #22 IPP-66305 Hugo

The Hugo is a Calamity War-era Mobile Suit just like the Gundam Frames. The Hugo utilizes a modified Hexa Frame, produced in massive quantities during the Calamity War. The Hexa Frame is exceptionally lightweight, granting the Hugo a significant boost to mobility but drastically reducing its strength in defense. The Hugo’s Hexa Frame features a head-mounted cockpit, a rarity in the Post-Disaster Timeline. With the cockpit block inside the Mobile Suit’s head, its designers drastically increased pilot survivability, an instrumental change to this “Glass Cannon” Mobile Suit. The Hugo is a space-use Mobile Suit, as its unique duck-bill-shaped (Walter’s description not mine) feet cannot support the Mobile Suit properly under the stresses of gravity. This particular Hugo belongs to the leader of the Dawn Horizon Corps, Sandoval Reuters. Sandoval engaged Tekkedan alongside two additional Hugos over Mars after his group assaulted the Half-Metal Mine on the planet’s surface.

Articulation –

As the only Hexa Frame-equipped Mobile Suit in the HG IBO line, the Hugo features a unique internal construction and all-new armor parts. The Hugo provides a fun and different building experience than the typical HG IBO model kit, making it a great addition to any collection! The Hugo’s Hexa Frame features reversed leg joints to utilize its leg claws with greater efficiency. With these legs, Hugo can perform striking aerial poses with the help of an Action Base. Overall, Hugo’s the HG Hugo provides a satisfying build that doesn’t miss out on any of your favorite features seen across the rest of the HG IBO line.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Attached to Hugo’s back are a pair of “Engetsuto” Scimitars, massive Calamity War-era weapons developed for the mass-produced Hugos. Hugo uses these Scimitars to stop incoming attacks and deliver hefty blows. Hugos excelled with coordinated group tactics, often ensnaring and disabling its targets with the combination of its leg-mounted Shot Anchor Claws and its Leg Claws. Hugo also sorties with a 110mm Machine Gun to engage targets outside of striking distance.
