The Gundam Vidar is the personal Mobile Suit of the disguised Gaelio Bauduin while working with Gjallarhorn’s Arianrhod Fleet. Gundam Vidar is the disguised version of Gundam Kimaris, featuring all-new weapons, a new color scheme, and even a third Ahab Reactor to conceal its true identity. Gundam Vidar’s new equipment puts a heavy emphasis on agility and high maneuverability. Gjallarhorn went as far as installing a state-of-the-art Alaya-Vijnana Type E System to grant Gaelio superhuman abilities under the right circumstances. When activated, the Alaya-Vijnana Type E gives Gundam Vidar’s sensors an intense pink hue, similar to Barbatos’s appearance with the limiters disabled. Despite only appearing in a ten-episode stint in the anime’s second season, Gundam Vidar quickly became a fan-favorite design from the Post-Disaster Timeline.
Included alongside Gundam Vidar for accessories:
- Burst Saber
- 110mm Rifle
- Handgun x2
Articulation –
Gundam Vidar uses the same internal construction as the rest of the HG IBO Gundams, so building Gundam Vidar will be pretty familiar if you’ve assembled other HG IBO models before. While this may seem like purely cost-cutting, it is in line with the Post-Disaster timeline lore. Gundam Vidar’s backpack combines the third Ahab Reactor with two articulated thrusters mounted via a ball joint for your posing needs! Gundam Vidar’s side skirts are the storage location for the interchangeable Burst Saber Blades, each side attaching with multiple points of articulation for a truly dynamic look.
Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –
Both of Gundam Vidar’s feet unfurl to reveal the Hunters Edge, a pair of extendable blades mounted on each foot to increase the effectiveness of its kicks. With these weapons, Gundam Vidar could likely disable a lesser opponent, Sanji-Style! However, Vidar is no gentlemen and thus, utilizes an assortment of weaponry to combat enemy Mobile Suits. Gundam Vidar’s most impressive armament is the Burst Saber. The Burst Saber is like an earthly Rapier, used for thrusting attacks and incapable of slicing opponents effectively. Each of the six blades carried by Gundam Vidar contains a napalm charge, allowing the Gundam to strike its opponent, detach the blade, then detonate after reaching a safe distance. You’ll also find a pair of matching handguns included with the HG Gundam Vidar, which, despite their exciting appearance, are relatively useless against other Mobile Suits.
