Gundam Bael was the first Gundam Frame built by Gjallarhorn during the Calamity War and was the personal Mobile Suit of Gjallarhorn’s founder, Agnika Kaieru. Like the other Gundams in this series, Gundam Bael gets its name from the first book of The Lesser Key of Solomon, the Ars Goetia. In this ranking of demonic entities, Bael holds the number one spot and the title of king. Of all the Gundams seen throughout Iron-Blooded Orphans, Gundam Bael is the only one whose namesake possesses the title of king. The recently announced Gundam Asmodeus from Iron-Blooded Orphans URDR-Hunt uses the name of another Demon King, so it’ll be interesting to see if this holds any significance once more information on the new Gundam Frame surfaces.

Included alongside Gundam Bael for accessories:

  • Bael Sword x2

Articulation
 –

Gundam Bael uses the same internal construction as the rest of the HG IBO Gundams, so building Gundam Bael will be pretty familiar if you’ve assembled other HG IBO models before. While this may seem like purely cost-cutting, it is in line with the Post-Disaster timeline lore. One thing that sets Gundam Bael apart from the rest is the addition of two articulated thrusters mounted to the Mobile Suit’s backpack. There are multiple points of articulation throughout these components to provide a satisfying and dynamic look in any pose!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Contained within each wing is an electromagnetic Cannon to restain enemy movement. The only offensive equipment for Gundam Bael is a pair of swords constructed with a rare, ultra-strong metal capable of slicing through Gundam Frames with the right pilot. This lack of weaponry symbolizes the overwhelming strength of the organization’s founder, who needed nothing more than his pair of Bael Swords to smite his foes. Gundam Bael also features a waist-mounted sheath for both swords, made posable for some awesome posing opportunities!

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #36 Gundam Bael with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.

king of demons with a pair of golden swords. claims it doesn’t need any other weapons, but would look cool with a giant cannon
