HG IBO #38 ASW-G-71 Gundam Dantalion

$21.99

The Gundam Dantalion is one of the 72 Mobile Suits constructed during the Calamity War utilizing Gjallarhorn’s mighty Gundam Frame. Gjallarhorn began the Gundam Dantalion’s development late into the Calamity War using combat data from earlier Gundam models, intending to create a much more powerful Mobile Suit that could turn the tides of the Calamity War singlehandedly. This plan proved a massive success, with the Gundam Dantalion playing a pivotal role in the Calamity War’s end and resulting in the Zalmfort Family’s rise within Gjallarhorn’s hierarchy. The Gundam Dantalion featured a unique “Cowl System,” which gave the Mobile Suit access to an unusual set of transformable equipment that doubled as wearable armor.

Included alongside the HG Gundam Dantalion for accessories:

  • Bayonet Sword/Rifle
  • T-Booster
  • Display Stand for T-Booster

Articulation
 –

The HG Gundam Dantalion uses the same internal construction as the rest of the HG IBO Gundams, so building Gundam Dantalion will be pretty familiar if you’ve assembled other HG IBO models before. While this may seem like pure cost-cutting, it accurately reflects Post-Disaster timeline lore. The model features double-jointed knees and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion for builders to create dynamic poses! The Gundam Dantalion features a much more streamlined shape than earlier Gundam Mobile Suits, perfect for accomplishing intricate and unique action poses.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The HG Gundam Dantalion includes a transformable Bayonet Rifle as its primary weapon. This weapon fires 100mm rounds at a high rate of fire and is very easy to handle, thanks to its compact shape. In Bayonet Sword mode, the weapon retains its rifle functionality but primarily serves as a massive bladed weapon for engaging enemy Mobile Suits at close range. Builders can attach the T-Booster to the Gundam Dantalion’s back to prepare the Mobile Suit for long-distance flights. Builders can recreate the Mobile Suit’s Halfcowl T Form via a brief partsformation gimmick. Bandai provided a small adapter that allows the Gundam Dantalion to wield the Bayonet Sword using the Halfcowl T’s massive manipulators!

HG IBO #38 Gundam Dantalion

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG IBO #38 Gundam Dantalion with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
