The Zaku Warrior is a stylish redesign of one of the most iconic Universal Century Mobile Suits Ever! The Zaku Warrior is the Cosmic Era version of the MS-06 Zaku II, created by ZAFT as a part of the New Millennium Series. This development program sought to increase the efficiency of ZAFT’s mass production lineup and incorporated design language from the Gundam series that started it all! The Zaku Warrior’s design supports the use of various equipment packs called Wizard Packs. The Wizard System is a product of the Junius Treaty, which limited the number of Mobile Suits an organization could possess and operate simultaneously. With the Wizard System, ZAFT could change the equipment loadouts for the Zaku Warrior depending on the deployment scenario.

Articulation –

The Zaku Warrior is not a member of the HGCE lineup. These older HG Seed kits provide a satisfying and fully articulated Mobile Suit at a great value. There are unique techniques used throughout the construction of the Gunner Zaku Warrior Lunamaria Hawke Custom, especially when attaching the shoulders. The thighs attach to the waist via a ball joint, which unfortunately means that there is no thigh-swivel gimmick. Although it may not be as articulate as more modern High Grades, the solid thigh matches the original design a lot better.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Zaku Warrior’s primary weapon is the MMI-M633 Beam Assault Rifle, a rapid-fire weapon with a decent scattering effect. The design for this weapon draws heavily from the original Zaku’s 110mm Machine Gun, which, unlike its Cosmic Era Counterpart, is a ballistic weapon. The Zaku Warrior also includes a Beam Tomahawk for close-quarters engagements. The Zaku Warrior also features four handheld grenades attached to its side skirting for easy access. The Zaku Warrior was known to utilize explosive, fragmentation, incendiary, and smoke grenades, but it is unknown which type the HG Seed Zaku Warrior features.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG Seed #18 Zaku Warrior with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.

    Quite solid kit and good for painting

    Solid kit, if you panel line it comes out looking really nice without much extra work. Surprisingly good kit for something 20 years old at this point. Shoulder shield has great mobility, if you’re doing an army builder set for ZAFT suits it’s pretty a great addition.
