The GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam is a second-generation GAT-X series Mobile Suit developed by the Earth Alliance in a joint venture with the Azrael Conglomerate. The GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam is the successor to the GAT-X103 Buster Gundam, outfitted with an assortment of artillery and long-range equipment. The GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam benefits from an improved internal frame and an array of built-in thrusters that allow the Mobile Suit to hover in-atmosphere. These improvements made the GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam too overwhelming for ordinary pilots to operate, forcing the Earth Alliance to use genetically modified pilots known as Biological CPUs to compete with ZAFT’s naturally-born Coordinators. The GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam first sortied alongside the GAT-X370 Raider Gundam and the GAT-X252 Forbidden Gundam during the Battle of Orb.

Included alongside the HG Calamity Gundam for accessories:

  • “Todesblock” 337mm Plasma-Sabot Bazooka
  • Anti-Beam Shield
  • Action Base Adapter

Articulation
 –

The HG Calamity Gundam is a rereleased version of the original HG SEED #09 Calamity Gundam released in 2003 with a new color scheme, more accurately portraying its anime appearance. This model features double-jointed knees, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The HG Calamity Gundam includes a universal Action Base Adapter to help builders pose the model in an elevated state. This model features small sheets of color-correcting and marking stickers to help recreate the Mobile Suit’s on-screen appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The HG Calamity Gundam includes the “Todesblock” 337mm Plasma-Sabot Bazooka as its primary handheld weapon. The Shield used by the HG Calamity Gundam features the “Kaefer Zwei” 115mm Dual Ram Cannon built into its exterior. Builders can pose the weapon barrels to represent the weapon’s activation. Builders can individually articulate the “Schlag” Long Range Beam Cannons attached to the HG Calamity Gundam’s backpack for an excellent display of the Mobile Suit’s offensive capabilities.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG Seed R08 GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is ahttps://gundampros.com/product-category/model-supplies/gundam-markers/lways a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
