HG The Origin #04 YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf Tactical Demonstrator

The YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf (Tactical Demonstrator) is a Mobile Suit developed by Zeonic Company to test the capabilities of their experimental fixed weapon platforms, the Heat Rod and the 3-Barrel Machine Gun. The YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf (Tactical Demonstrator) shares many similarities with its predecessor, the MS-06C Zaku II, including its exposed piping. The YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf (Tactical Demonstrator) also features an updated version of the MW-01 Mobile Worker‘s removable forearms, which allow Prototype Gouf to sortie with different configurations of fixed weaponry for further testing.

Included alongside the HG Prototype Gouf for accessories:

  • Heat Rod (Deployed)
  • Manipulator Forearm Part x2
  • Shield
  • Heat Hawk (Deployed)
  • Heat Hawk (Stored)
  • Action Base Adapter

The HG Prototype Gouf borrows several internal components from the previously released HG Origin 01 Char’s Zaku II model, the first model released in the HG The Origin line, showcasing the in-universe lineage that connects these two Mobile Suits. This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The piping segment connecting the HG Prototype Gouf’s waist to its backpack may inhibit the model’s posing range. This model includes all the parts and markings necessary to recreate the Prototype Gouf’s appearance during Ramba Ral’s simulated battle with the RTX-65 Guntank Early Type.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The default configuration of the HG Prototype Gouf features two fixed weapons instead of traditional manipulators! By unfolding the tabs built into the HG Prototype Gouf’s forearms, builders can equip the standard manipulators included with this model. Bandai provided a bendable Heat Rod for displaying this equipment in an active state. The Shield included with the HG Prototype Gouf shares many similarities with the one later used by the Gouf Production Models. The HG Prototype Gouf can equip the Heat Hawk attached to its side skirt armor for close-quarters engagements.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG The Origin #04 YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf Tactical Demonstrator with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
