The YMS-08B Dom Test Type is a prototype Mobile Suit developed by Zimmad Company’s in-house engineers to replace the Zeonic-built MS-06C Zaku II Type C and the MS-07B Gouf. The YMS-08B Dom Test Type benefits from a pair of thermal jet engines built into its feet that drastically improve the Mobile Suit’s mobility and deployment time. Zimmad constructed two variants of the Dom Test Type, a Space-use configuration and a Ground-use configuration. These variants featured minor differences in markings and chest armor which Zimmad would expand upon for the development of the MS-09 Dom and MS-09R Rick Dom.

Articulation –

The HG Dom Test Type features an entirely new construction supported by an array of polycaps, as this was the first rendition of the Dom Mobile Suit in the HG the Origin line! This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The HG Dom Test Type also includes optional parts and marking stickers to recreate both configurations of the Mobile Suit. The piping segments on the Mobile Suit’s head and torso are self-contained and should not inhibit the model’s movable range.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The HG Dom Test Type includes the same massive Beam Bazooka later utilized by the Rick Dom as its primary weapon. This experimental weapon is one of the earliest beam weapons designed by the Principality of Zeon and is much more destructive than any Federation-operated beam weapons from this period. The HG Dom Test Type also sorties with the iconic Heat Saber for close-range engagements. Builders can attach the Heat Saber to the Mobile Suit’s backpack when not in use.

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG The Origin #07 YMS-08B Dom Test Type with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
