HG The Origin #08 YMS-03 Waff

The YMS-03 Waff was the first Mobile Suit to utilize a miniature fusion reactor as its powerplant, setting the groundwork for the next century of Mobile Suit development. The initial simulation of the YMS-03 Waff shown to the Zabi Family showcased the devastating potential of Mobile Suits equipped with a Minovsky Fusion Reactor, quickly earning the support of Zeon’s highest-ranking officials. Torenov Y. Minovsky was the mastermind behind the YMS-03 Waff’s design, creating the final prototype within a year of its inception. However, shortly after completing the YMS-03 Waff prototype, Zeon began developing a series of combat-focused Mobile Suits, the first of which was the MS-04 Bugu.

Articulation –

The HG Waff borrows several internal components from the previously released HG Origin 01 Char’s Zaku II model, the first model released in the HG The Origin line, showcasing the in-universe lineage that connects these two Mobile Suits. This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The piping segment on the Mobile Suit’s torso is self-contained and should not inhibit the model’s movable range. This model includes all the necessary markings to recreate the original prototype YMS-03 Waff’s on-screen appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Prototype MS Bazooka included with the HG Waff was one of the first weapons designed for Mobile Suit use. Builders can attach this weapon to the Mobile Suit’s back skirt for storage. The HG Waff can equip the Heat Hawk attached to its side skirt armor for close-quarters engagements. The HG Waff’s handheld shield also connects to the Mobile Suit’s forearm via a ball joint for a more secure hold. Builders can optionally equip the fixed weapons included with the HG The Origin #04 YMS-07B-0 Prototype Gouf Tactical Demonstrator.
