HG The Origin #14 RCX-76-01 Guncannon Mobility / Firepower Test Type

$19.99

The RCX-76-01A/B Guncannon Mobility/Firepower Test Type is a prototype Mobile Suit developed by Anaheim Electronics to test the combat capabilities of their RCX-76 Guncannon design. Anaheim Electronics designed two different equipment loadouts for this Mobile Suit, each designed to stress particular aspects of its design. Anaheim Electronics conceived the Mobility Test Type to examine the Mobile Suit’s maneuverability and the viability of bipedal Mobile Weapons. The Firepower Test Type featured a second cockpit mounted inside the Mobile Suit’s head where an additional pilot would control the weaponry, allowing the pilot seated in the torso to focus solely on handling the Mobile Suit’s movement. Anaheim Electronics used this configuration to test several fixed weapons and handheld armaments that would aid the development of the RX-77-2 Guncannon and the RX-75 Guntank.

The HG Guncannon Mobility/Firepower Test Type borrows most of its construction from the previously released HG The Origin #11 RCX-76-02 Guncannon First Type Iron Cavalry Squadron, showcasing the in-universe lineage that connects these two Mobile Suits. This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. Bandai provided a display stand alongside the HG Guncannon Mobility/Firepower Test Type for displaying the model in an elevated pose right out of the box! This model includes all the parts and markings necessary to recreate either the Mobility Test Type or the Firepower Test Type.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The HG Guncannon Mobility/Firepower Test Type includes the same shoulder-mounted cannons used by the HG The Origin #02 RTX-65 Guntank Early Type, each featuring a pair of moving pistons to give the model a more realistic feel. This model also includes two Gatling Guns that builders can alternatively connect to the Mobile Suit’s shoulders. The HG Guncannon Mobility/Firepower Test Type also utilizes the same Machine Gun used by the HG The Origin #12 MS-04 Bugu, as the Earth Federation and Zeon both held contracts with the weapon’s manufacturer, Yashima Heavy Industrial, preceding the One Year War.

HG The Origin #14 RCX-76-01 Guncannon Mobility / Firepower Test Type

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG The Origin #14 RCX-76-01 Guncannon Mobility / Firepower Test Type with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
