The MS-06C/C-5 Zaku II Type C/C-5 is an early variant of Zeonic Company’s iconic Zaku II series. The Principality of Zeon fielded two sub-variants of the M-06C designed to operate in space, the C-5 and C-6, each making use of different equipment packages. Both variants feature a set of built-in Vulcan Cannons on their torso that would not reappear on their successor, the MS-06F Zaku II. Several early-type Zakus made their debut in the Clash of Loum alongside the MS-06C/C-5 Zaku II Type C/C-5, where the Principality of Zeon demonstrated the devastating effectiveness of combat Mobile Suits.

Articulation –

The HG Zaku II Type C/C-5 borrows several components from the previously released HG Origin 01 Char’s Zaku II model, the first model released in the HG The Origin line! This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The piping segments on the Mobile Suit’s head and torso are self-contained and should not inhibit the model’s movable range. This model includes all the parts and markings necessary to recreate either the Type C or Type C-5 configuration of the Zaku II.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Instead of the traditional drum magazine-fed Zaku Machine Gun, the HG Zaku II Type C/C-5 includes a unique belt-fed variant of this equipment. Bandai provided a removable ammo container attached to the Mobile Suit’s backpack that feeds the ammunition belt directly to the rifle. This model also includes the ASR-78 Anti-Ship Rifle and the Type A2 MS Bazooka for additional firepower. The HG Zaku II Type C/C-5 can equip the Heat Hawk attached to its side skirt armor for close-quarters engagements.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HG The Origin #16 MS-06C Zaku II Type C / Type C-5 with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking Decals. Top Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
