HG The Origin #24 MS-06S Zaku II Red Comet Version

The MS-06S Zaku II is an upgraded variation of the original MS-06 Zaku II intended for use by the Principality of Zeon’s Commanders. This all-red MS-06S Zaku II belongs to Major Char Aznable, famed ace pilot and future leader of the Neo Zeon Army. The MS-06S Zaku II is almost identical to its mass production counterpart, aside from the commander-type antennae protruding from its head. Internally, the MS-06S Zaku II features an updated powerplant for increased performance, providing its skilled pilot with unrivaled maneuverability. Char Aznable made many notable appearances in the MS-06S Zaku II during the One Year War, establishing himself as The Red Comet of the Principality of Zeon during the Battle of Loum. During this engagement, Char destroyed numerous Federation battleships with the MS-06S Zaku II, setting the groundwork for decades, if not centuries, of wars fought with Mobile Suits.

Articulation –

The HG Zaku II Red Comet is essentially a re-issue of the original HG Origin 01 Char’s Zaku II model, which Bandai released way back in 2015! This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The piping segments on the Mobile Suit’s head and torso are self-contained and should not inhibit the model’s movable range. This model includes the markings to recreate the HG Zaku II Red Comet’s appearance after the Battle of Loum.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

This model includes the standard 120mm Zaku Machine Gun and the Belt-fed variant seen in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin. Bandai provided a removable ammo container attached to the Mobile Suit’s backpack that feeds the ammunition belt directly to the rifle. This model also includes the ASR-78 Anti-Ship Rifle and the Type A2 MS Bazooka for some additional firepower. The HG Zaku II Red Comet can equip the Heat Hawk attached to its side skirt armor for close-quarters engagements.
