HGCE #232 GAT-04 Windam

The GAT-04 Windam is one of the Earth Alliance’s mass production models during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. The GAT-04 Windam vastly improved upon the previous GAT-02L2 Dagger L Mobile Suits, especially when comparing maneuverability. The GAT-04 Windam uses the same X100 series frame found inside various Gundams, most notably the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam. Like the Strike Gundam, The GAT-04 Windam could utilize a vast array of Striker Packs depending on the combat scenario. This HGAC rendition of the GAT-04 Windam includes The Jet Striker Pack, which improves the suit’s mobility in-atmosphere. This equipment also features hardpoints for attaching external propellant tanks or missiles.

Articulation –

The HGCE GAT-04 Windam is one of Bandai’s few “Fine Build” model kits, which offer a streamlined build process without compromising the proportions or articulation of the model. The changes will be most apparent when assembling the arms and legs. Each limb uses just two frame parts to connect the upper portion to the lower. While building the GAT-04 Windam, you may find yourself thinking, “Why can’t all High Grade model kits be this simple yet satisfying to build?” and we couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately, there have not been any new releases using the “Fine Build” system since the release of the HGCE GAT-04 Windam in mid-2020. The GAT-04 Windam is a fully-featured, modernized High Grade with just 133 pieces, perfect for builders of any age or skill level!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

This variant of the GAT-04 Windam includes the AQM/E-A4E1 Jet Striker Pack. This equipment improved the in-atmospheric flight capabilities of the GAT-04 Windam by a significant margin. The Jet Striker also features four missile racks, increasing the Mobile Suit’s firepower. There are two types of missiles included, two unguided missile pods and two homing missiles. You will need to paint these weapons to make them fully color accurate, and the same goes for the backside of the GAT-04 Windam’s shield, which features two additional missiles. This shield attaches to the Mobile Suit with a ball joint connection to provide a more dynamic look.
