HGUC #137 MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type Yonem Kirks

The MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type originates from the 2006 Harmony of Gundam project. This project tasked famous mechanical designer Hajime Katoki with creating a series of official Universal Century Mobile Suit Variations for use in the Gundam Video Game franchises. The MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type is one of the few designs from this project to be recreated in the HGUC lineup! Bandai based this rendition of the Zaku I Sniper Type off the Yonem Kirks Custom unit seen Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn during the attack on Torrington Base. This version features a slight variation to the original color scheme and a handful of additions, such as the spare barrel containers.

Articulation –

The construction of the Zaku I Sniper Type Yonem Kirks is almost identical to the previously released HGUC #71 Zaku I Sniper Type, aside from a few new molds and a handful of additional accessories. The MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type has some interesting gimmicks compared to other High Grade Zeon MS. An articulated kneepad replaces the original knee armor, granting enhanced stability while firing the Beam Sniper. When the unit is firing from a prone position, the updated monoeye articulates along the middle track for a better view.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Builders can use the included cable to attach the Beam Sniper Rifle to the Back-Mounted Sub-Generator, providing the weapon with the power necessary to disable targets in a single blast! The wire can also fasten to the backpack at both ends when the Beam Sniper Rifle is not in use. Bandai even threw in an open-palmed left manipulator for supporting the rifle. If an enemy Mobile Suit sneaks up on the MS-05L Zaku I Sniper Type, it can switch to the 105mm Machine Gun for close-quarters engagements.
