HGUC #143 RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner

(1 customer review)

$17.99

During Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ, the Earth Federation developed the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner using data from Zeon’s MS-06M Zaku Marine Type used during the One Year War. The RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner vastly improved upon Zeon’s design to make a more powerful Mobile Suit above and below the sea! Unfortunately, Neo Zeon captured all the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner units before the Federation could utilize them in combat.

The accessories for the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner include:

  • 4 Tube Spray Missile Gun
  • Magnet Harken

Articulation
 –

The RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner’s arms will extend forward, allowing the model to hold its primary weapon with both hands! The RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner was one of the earliest HG Zakus to feature rotating thighs, coupled with double-jointed knees allowing the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner to really strike a pose! The knee armor is molded separately from the lower leg and attaches to the knee to create a sweet armor sliding gimmick. The heat piping running throughout the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner may inhibit the articulation compared to similar models that do not feature any heat piping.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

Bandai used a bendable wire to recreate the deployed Magnet Harken. This weapon launches from the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner’s forearm, attaching itself to the enemy MS and distributing an electric shock to disable the target temporarily. The Magnet Harken is the only melee weapon the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner utilizes. The primary handheld weapon for the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner is the 4 Tube Spray Missile Gun, which will require some red paint on the tip to be fully color accurate. The body of the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner contains most of the Mobile Suit’s firepower. There is a total of fourteen Submarine Rocket Launchers mounted throughout the Mobile Suit. Bandai included two deployed Submarine Rockets with the model kit for displaying the RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner as it fires off its payload!

This kit includes:

5 Runners total (A, B, C, D, PC001A)

HGUC #143 RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #143 RMS-192M Zaku-Mariner with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.

Nice to get a little bit of terrain variety with the Zaku. Although not perfect, the kit has some cool features. The shoulder missiles are a real cool touch, however, only one shoulder can actually hold the effect parts. Even with stickers, painting is required for some parts, like the tip of the missile gun. The chest also has two options: the marine vents or the standard Zaku chest plate.
