HGUC #186 MSZ-008 Z II

$27.99

The MSZ-008 Z II is another astonishing Mobile Suit design found in Zeta Gundam Mobile Suit Variations. The MSZ-008 Z II is a streamlined version of the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam specifically designed for space combat. The MSZ-008 Z II uses a simplified transformation and is no longer capable of atmospheric flight/re-entry but adds tons of acceleration and maneuverability. Development of the MSZ-008 Z II halted not long after the AEUG requested the completion of the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. That didn’t stop Bandai from creating an excellent HGUC rendition of the MSZ-008 Z II for fans to enjoy!

Included alongside the MSZ-008 Z II for accessories:

  • XBR-M87A2 Beam Rifle
  • Mega Beam Rifle
  • Clay Bazooka x2
  • Beam Saber x2
  • Parts for Waverider Mode

Articulation
 –

Like most HGUC renditions of transformable Mobile Suits, the MSZ-008 Z II uses a partsformation gimmick to accomplish its transformation into Waverider Mode. The legs are the only piece of the MSZ-008 Z II that transform, making them more complex to build but more articulate than standard legs. The legs feature double jointed knees and swivel at the thighs for an impressive range of motion in Mobile Suit Mode. The Backpack thrusters are mounted via a ball joint, giving the model a more dynamic look when flying in Mobile Suit Mode.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The MSZ-008 Z II includes quite an impressive loadout. In Waverider Mode, the Mega Beam Rifle’s output increases to the same level as the MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam‘s Hyper Mega Launcher! The two Mobile Suits also share the same XBR-M87A2 Beam Rifle, which functions as a Beam Saber when necessary. The MSZ-008 Z II features two standard Beam Sabers for close-quarters engagements. The pair of Clay Bazookas stored on the MSZ-008 Z II’s backpack is a staple of AEUG Mobile Suits from this era.

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #186 MSZ-008 Z II with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
