HGUC #208 RX-79BD-2 Blue Destiny Unit 2 EXAM

$21.99

The RX-79BD-2 Blue Destiny Unit 2 is the Mobile Suit used by the antagonist of the Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny video game. Its pilot, Nimbus Schterzen, stole the unit during an attack on the facility where the EXAM system originated. Since the RX-79BD-2 Blue Destiny Unit 2 had no limiter on its EXAM System, the Mobile Suit would enter a “Berserk” state under certain conditions. The Berserk RX-79BD-2 Blue Destiny Unit 2 vastly outperforms the other two Blue Destiny Units at the cost of the pilot’s safety and the potential destruction of the Mobile Suit.

Included alongside the HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 for accessories:

  • BLASH XBR-M-79E Beam Rifle
  • NFHI RGM-M-Sh-AGD Shield
  • YHI YF-MG100 100mm Machine Gun
  • B.Sa-G-03 Beam Saber x2

Articulation

The HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 borrows most of its construction from the previously released HGUC #210 RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type, showcasing the in-universe lineage connecting these two Mobile Suits. This model features double-jointed limbs and swiveling thighs, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 features a 3mm attachment point built into its waist where builders can connect their preferred Action Base. The HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 includes thorough sheets of color-correcting and marking stickers to help builders recreate the HG Blue Destiny Unit 2’s in-game appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 includes the same BLASH XBR-M-79E Beam Rifle and YHI YF-MG100 100mm Machine Gun used by the Gundam Ground Type. Both of these weapons features articulated forward grips for added security when fired. The HG Blue Destiny Unit 2 also sorties with a pair of X.B.Sa-G-03 Beam Sabers stored inside its leg armor for quick access. The NFHI RGM-M-Sh-AGD Shield attaches to the Mobile Suit’s forearm with a rotating adapter for added posability.

HGUC #208 RX-79BD-2 Blue Destiny Unit 2 EXAM

Tips and Tricks –

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the HGUC #207 RX-79BD-1 Blue Destiny Unit 1 EXAM with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. If you’re up to a challenge making panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before the application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
