The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is a gigantic prototype Transformable Mobile Armor from the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam animated series. The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam utilizes a special Psycommu System that only Cyber Newtypes can interface with, preventing standard pilots from using the Gundam. Even for Cyber Newtypes, the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam places a tremendous psychological strain on its pilot. Another unique aspect of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is its impressive stature! The Psycho Gundam reaches 40m tall when in Mobile Suit Mode, more than twice the size of a typical Mobile Suit used during the Grypps War. The same goes for this HGUC rendition of the Psycho Gundam, which will dwarf the rest of your 1/144 Mobile Suits, even outsizing a majority of the Master Grade Lineup!

The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam’s armaments are all fixed to the Mobile Suit, thus the only accessory with this model kit is the Gundam’s Shield.

Articulation –

Building the HGUC MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is unlike any other HGUC model kit to date! If you are expecting a Perfect Grade level of detail and posability because of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam’s size, you may be disappointed by the final product. The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is very much still a High Grade model kit, with an incomplete inner frame and clam-shell style armor construction. The easiest comparison would be with older Non-Grade 1/60 scale Gundam Model Kits, but they can be pretty hard to find. The transformation of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam won’t take much effort thanks to Bandai’s intricate internal design for this model kit.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam is so large that all of its weapons are contained within the Mobile Suit. Like the MSN-02 Zeong, the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam’s manipulators feature a Beam Cannon in each finger for a total of ten Cannons. There are 3 Diffuse Mega Particle Cannons in the front half of the torso too! These are devastating weapons capable of destroying enemy Mobile Suits in a single blast. The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam also features a 2 barrel Beam Gun mounted at the Base of its Blade antennae, a design that would be most recognized on the MSZ-010 ZZ Gundam. The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam’s Shield separates into two identical sections to complete the transformation into Mobile Armor Mode.
