MG MS-09R Rick Dom

The Rick Dom is the spacefaring version of Zimmad Company’s MS-09 Dom designed to replace Zeon’s 1st Generation Zaku IIs on the frontlines during the One Year War. The Rick Dom filled the gap in production between the MS-06 Zaku II and the MS-14 Gelgoog, whose production saw significant delays. The Rick Dom features a new equipment set designed to provide its pilot with a significant advantage in space combat. The most notable difference between the Rick Dom and its ground-type counterpart is the lack of hover jets within the Mobile Suit’s feet, instead utilizing rocket thrusters for improved mobility in space. The Rick Dom also features updated thrusters attached to its backpack and beneath its rear skirt, providing better thrust than the Zaku II High Mobility Type.

Articulation – 

The MG Rick Dom is a remaster of the original Master Grade version, which dropped in 1999! The Latest iteration of the MG Rick Dom uses a combination of the original molds with a healthy amount of redesigned elements to provide the model with a modern feel. The model now features swiveling thighs and an updated joint structure, vastly improving the original model’s articulation and posability. Surprisingly, the remastered MG Rick Dom uses fewer pieces in its construction than the original version, making it an excellent first choice for those looking to try the Master Grade line. 

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Rick Dom features a slightly different loadout than the MS-09 Dom, with the most notable inclusion being the massive Beam Bazooka. This experimental weapon is one of the earliest beam weapons designed by the Principality of Zeon and is much more destructive than any Federation-operated beam weapons from this period. The Rick Dom also uses the same 360mm Giant Bazooka as its ground-faring counterpart and utilizes the Heat Saber attached to its back in close-quarters combat.
