MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex is the third and final Unicorn Gundam prototype assembled by Augusta Newtype Labs as a part of the Federation’s “UC Project,” which sought the creation of powerful Psychoframe Mobile Suits to eliminate all Zeon remnants. Unlike the previous two iterations, the Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex was a secret project hidden by elements within the EFSF and eventually lost during a failed test procedure that ended after the Mobile Suit went berserk, destroying the bridge of a Federation Battleship before fleeing into unknown space. The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex would later return during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative, with the Federation’s Pheonix Hunt” team hot on its trail.

Articulation –

The MG Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex borrows most of its assembly from the previously released MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, providing a complete inner frame and a functioning cockpit. Bandai used an array of transparent blue parts to represent the Mobile Suit’s psychoframe components built into the frame. The MG Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex provides a complete transformation into Destroy Mode, with some steps perfectly reflecting the Mobile Suit’s on-screen mode change. The transformation does require the removal and relocation of certain parts, reducing the overall difficulty of the conversion and helping to maintain the proper proportions in either configuration.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MG Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex includes two armed armor DE units attached to the articulated arms on its backpack. These Shields do not feature the iconic stabilizer tails seen in Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative, reflecting the Mobile Suit’s configuration during its initial testing. The MG Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex also includes the same Beam Magnum and Hyper Bazooka used by the MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. Builders can attach either of these weapons to the Mobile Suit’s backpack instead of the Armed Armor DE units.
