MG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver 3.0

The RX-78-2 Gundam is the furthest advancement of the Earth Federation’s Operation V initiative to create Mobile Suits powerful enough to defeat the Principality of Zeon’s army of Zaku Mobile Suits. The RX-78-2 Gundam Prototype was precisely the answer the Earth Federation was looking for, as it quickly proved itself technologically superior to the mass production MS-06F Zaku II. The RX-78-2’s special Luna Titanium Alloy armor made it almost impervious to incoming ballistic fire without weighing down the Mobile Suit. At the time, the RX-78-2 was one of the most offensively capable Mobile Suits ever built, as its robust powerplant granted the RX-78-2 Gundam access to an array of beam-based weaponry. Before the RX-78-2 Gundam’s creation, beam weapons had only made their way onto the large space battleships of the Earth Federation and Zeon.

Articulation –

The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 is the latest revision of the original MG RX-78-2 Gundam from way back in 1995! The RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 borrows the best aspects from each preceding rendition in hopes of creating the ultimate version of the Grandaddy Gundam at the 1/100 scale. The RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 features a full inner frame and a functioning Core Fighter gimmick, all while supporting the use of an LED Unit Yellow within the torso! Builders looking to assemble their RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 with the LED installed should use the included Core Block instead of the Core Fighter during the final assembly, as stated in the instructions. The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 uses the same “Emotion Manipulator SP” found within other Master Grade releases from around the same time, such as the MG RX-93 Nu Gundam Ver.Ka.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The MG RX-78-2 Gundam 3.0 includes everything you’d expect to find alongside the Grandaddy Gundam, including the Hyper Bazooka! The Hyper Bazooka features an extending barrel and an unfolding tab that allows builders to attach the weapon to the back skirt for storage. Bandai added an identical section on the Mobile Suit’s Beam Rifle, which will fit into the back skirt or inside the Shield for a unique storage option. The Shield provides a sturdy attachment to the forearm with an optional handhold to create different poses!
