MG RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis

$49.99

The RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis was initially a prototype Mobile Suit constructed for the Earth Federation’s Gundam Development Project: a secret program devised to advance the Federation’s Mobile Suit technology after the One Year War. The Federation would task Anaheim Electronics with creating the Gundam Development Project Mobile Suits, with the RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis receiving a significant amount of Zeon technology thanks to a team of ex-Zeon engineers working for Anaheim Electronics. Anaheim would design the RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis specifically for wielding tactical nuclear weapons, as the prevalence of Minovsky particles on modern battlefields prevented the use of guided warheads. With traditional nuclear deterrents relegated to the past, the RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis and its high-payload warhead would become a profound threat to any opposers of the Federation. The RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis features thick layers of Luna Titanium Armor spanning its body, with additional plating on the Mobile Suit’s torso to increase pilot survivability. This armor protects the RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis from the effects of its nuclear weapons, as its blast radius almost encompasses the weapon’s maximum firing range. The Federation would never get to utilize this weapon of mass destruction during combat, as it fell into the hands of Neo Zeon Remnants during a surprise attack at the Federation’s Torrington Base.

Included alongside the MG GP02A Gundam Physalis for accessories:

  • AE/ZIM.G-BAZ-0186-A Atomic Bazooka
  • E.Blash AEXB-909L Beam Saber x2
  • NR-Sh-02-RX/S-00013 Shield

Articulation
 –

The MG Gundam Physalis features a unique construction combining internal frame components and old-school hollow components. This model does utilize an array of polycaps throughout its assembly to help provide this massive Mobile Suit with full articulation. The MG Gundam Physalis features early iterations of double-jointed knees and elbows, providing a wide range of motion to create dynamic poses. The MG Gundam Physalis features a functioning cockpit hatch to reveal a detailed interior. The MG Gundam Physalis’s binders feature multiple articulated thruster bells, giving builders the option to pose the Mobile Suit as it hovers in the atmosphere.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis’s NR-Sh-02-RX/S-00013 Shield could easily protect the Mobile Suit from incoming beam attacks but primarily served to guard the Physalis against the extreme heat created by the Mk-82 Nuclear Warhead fired from the Atomic Bazooka. The Shield also serves as the storage location for the front half of the Atomic Bazooka when not in use. The Atomic Bazooka’s firing mechanism remains attached to the Mobile Suit’s shoulder on an articulated arm that allows builders to position the weapon for firing without the risk of changing positions over time.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the RX-78GP02A Gundam Physalis with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
