RG #02 MS-06S Zaku II (Char Aznable Custom)

Original price was: $31.99.Current price is: $22.39.

The MS-06S Zaku II is an upgraded variation of the original MS-06 Zaku II intended for use by the Principality of Zeon’s Commanders. This all-red MS-06S Zaku II belongs to Major Char Aznable, famed ace pilot and future leader of the Neo Zeon Army. The MS-06S Zaku II is almost identical to its mass production counterpart, aside from the commander-type antennae protruding from its head. Internally, the MS-06S Zaku II features an updated powerplant for an increase in performance, providing its skilled pilot with unrivaled maneuverability. Char Aznable made many notable appearances in the MS-06S Zaku II during the One Year War, establishing himself as The Red Comet of the Principality of Zeon during the Battle of Loum. During this engagement, Char destroyed numerous Federation battleships with the MS-06S Zaku II, setting the groundwork for decades, if not centuries, of wars fought with Mobile Suits.

Included alongside the MS-06S Zaku II for accessories:

  • 120mm Zaku Machine Gun
  • H&L-SB25K/280mmA-P Zaku Bazooka
  • Heat Hawk
  • 1/144 Char Aznable Figure
  • Action Base Adapter

Articulation
 –

The Real Grade MS-06S Zaku II was one of the earliest Bandai models to utilize pre-molded inner frame pieces in its assembly. These parts combine hard and soft plastics to create large movable joint sections, to which builders apply additional frame pieces and armor over the pre-molded parts. The MS-06S Zaku II uses twice as many pieces as its High Grade counterpart, providing much greater color accuracy on the 1/144th scale. The RG MS-06S Zaku II provides an efficient method for recreating the Mobile Suit’s heat piping, similar to the slide-assembly gimmick found in the MG MS-06J Zaku II Ver. 2.0. This technology drastically reduces the hassle of attaching the armored rings without sacrificing color accuracy.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

The MS-06S Zaku II includes all the iconic Zaku weapons you’d expect to find alongside Zeon’s mass production Mobile Suits during the One Year War. The commander type Zaku does not include any additional weaponry, further proving the value of skilled ace pilots during Mobile Suit combat. Each weapon features updated designs loaded with surface detail without straying from the silhouette of the source material. These weapons feature the same excellent color separation as the MS-06S Zaku II, providing some of the best-looking 1/144 scale weapons Bandai has ever made! Builders can detach the magazine from atop the Zaku Machine Gun and store it on the rear or side skirt armor. Bandai also included an adapter to attach the Heat Hawk on the MS-06S Zaku II’s skirt armor. The Hyper Bazooka also fits right into a dedicated storage location on the back skirt. Each weapon features protruding tabs made to fit directly into the MS-06S Zaku II’s manipulators for a secure hold.

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the MS-06S Zaku II with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
