RG #26 MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type (Johnny Ridden Custom)

$34.99

The MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type is an experimental Mobile Suit created by Zeonic Company in the competition to create a new generation of Mobile Suits for The Principality of Zeon. Despite losing this race to the MS-09R Rick Dom, the MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type eventually saw further development while Zeon scrambled to develop and manufacture the beam weapon-equipped MS-14A Gelgoog. A total of four MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type’s found their way into the hands of Zeon’s most powerful Aces, including the famous Johnny Ridden. The Zaku II High Mobility Type improves many aspects of the original MS-06F Zaku II design, pushing the platform to its limit with the addition of thrusters and propellant tanks throughout the Mobile Suit. Initial concepts of the Zaku II High Mobility Type would’ve allowed the Mobile Suit to utilize handheld beam weaponry but never came to fruition.

Articulation

The RG Zaku II High Mobility Type is one of many early Real Grade models utilizing pre-molded inner frame pieces in its assembly. These parts combine hard and soft plastics to create large movable joint sections, to which builders apply additional frame pieces and armor over the pre-molded parts. The RG Zaku II High Mobility Type uses twice as many pieces as its High Grade counterpart, providing much greater color accuracy on the 1/144th scale. This model uses the internal MS Joint Parts from the previously released RG #04 MS-06F Zaku II, with additional frame parts to create the proper proportions. The RG Zaku II High Mobility Type also uses the same system to recreate the flexible heat piping as its predecessor, reducing build fatigue significantly.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes

All four Zaku II High Mobility Types featured a head-mounted blade antenna. These antennas are entirely decorative, unlike other Mobile Suits that use them to distinguish commander-type units. The MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type includes all the iconic Zaku weapons you’d expect to find alongside Zeon’s mass production Mobile Suits during the One Year War. Each armament features updated designs loaded with surface detail without straying from the silhouette of the source material. These weapons feature the same excellent color separation as the Zaku II High Mobility Type, providing some of the best-looking 1/144 scale weapons Bandai has ever made! The MS-06R-2 Zaku II High Mobility Type also includes the H&L-GB05R/360mm Giant Bazooka, the standard weapon for the MS-09 Dom. This weapon was one of the strongest ballistic launchers used during the One Year War!

Description

By implementing the technique of Top Coating, you can do a great deal to help preserve the longevity of your models. This process will protect the original plastic of your model kit and prepare it for any additional modeling techniques to follow.

You can drastically improve your results by making the details pop on the Zaku II High Mobility Type with Panel Lining. The simplest solution for this is Gundam Markers or Tamiya Panel Line Fluid. Making your own panel wash is always a great option too! It is always recommended to Topcoat with clear gloss beforehand, as some of the products commonly used for Panel Lining will degrade the untreated plastics over time.

Another way to keep adding detail is by applying Stickers/Marking DecalsTop Coating before application will help decals stick to the surface much better. Using Top Coat after application will help hide the seams on traditional sticker decals as well as waterslides. This additional step will also keep them from peeling over time. Using Decals is a great way to add an even greater level of detail to your scale models.
