RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX Transport Platform Set

The RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX was Bandai’s first attempt at reimagining the iconic mechs from Neon Genesis Evangelion as members of the decade-old Real Grade line! Before the release of this model, the Real Grade line was exclusive to the Gundam Franchise, providing reimagined 1/144 scale renditions of some of the most famous Mobile Suits. While the unofficial height of the Evangelion Unit 01 makes it tricky to scale, the RG Evangelion Unit 01 will stand noticeably taller than most 1/144 scale models in your collection. The RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX is also rather slender, as the designers based the RG Evangelions on the proportions used in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. The Rebuild design also provides Evangelion Unit 01 DX with an updated color scheme, better suiting the exceptional color separation of the Real Grade line! The RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX is identical to the RG Evangelion Unit-01 but features the Evangelion’s iconic transport platform and AT Field Effect!

Articulation –

The Evangelion Unit 01 DX is well known for its commitment to recreating the organic movements of Hideaki Anno’s gigantic humanoid mechs. The internals of the Evangelion Unit 01 DX is unalike any preceding model kit, providing countless articulation points hidden within the model’s narrow silhouette. By skipping out on a complete inner frame, Bandai created an accurately proportioned model with an incredible range of motion and equally as impressive exterior detailing! The intelligent use of layering techniques and multi-injection molds throughout gives Evangelion Unit 01 DX a shelf-worthy appearance right out of the box!

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Even Evangelion Unit 01 DX’s Pallet Rifle comes molded in multiple colors, a far cry from the single-color weapon sandwiches of years past. Bandai even created the red markings on the Umbilical Cable using separate pieces! The RG Evangelion 01 DX includes a variety of hands to hold its weapons and recreate poses from its many on-screen appearances. Builders can insert the included Entry Plug into Evangelion Unit 01’s nape thanks to a clever gimmick by Bandai. The RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX’s Transport Platform fits the model snugly and provides a place to plug in the Umbilical Cord’s base. Bandai created a unique AT Field for the RG Evangelion Unit 01 DX, featuring new rainbow coloring and increased shimmer not seen on the LMHG Evangelion Test Type-01 version.
