Ver.Ka MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee

The Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee is the second of three Unicorn Gundam prototypes assembled by Augusta Newtype Labs as a part of the Federation’s “UC Project,” which sought the creation of powerful Psychoframe Mobile Suits to eliminate all Zeon remnants. After its completion, the Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee underwent an additional testing phase at the Augusta Research Lab on Earth to determine the Mobile Suit’s viability in atmospheric combat. This model builds into the Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee as it appeared while stationed onboard the Federation’s General Revil before the aforementioned atmospheric tests, sharing an identical loadout with the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. This version of the Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee features a variation to the Mobile Suit’s color scheme, missing the golden collar seen in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.

Articulation –

The MG borrows most of its assembly from the previously released MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, providing a complete inner frame and a functioning cockpit. Bandai used an array of transparent yellow parts to represent the Mobile Suit’s psychoframe components built into the frame. The MG Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee provides a complete transformation into Destroy Mode, with some steps perfectly reflecting the Mobile Suit’s on-screen mode change. The transformation does require the removal and relocation of certain parts, reducing the overall difficulty of the conversion and helping to maintain the proper proportions in either configuration.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Beam Magnum and Hyper Bazooka feature removable magazines, both of which fit on the rear skirt for storage. Either of these weapons will fit into the storage connection on the Mobile Suit’s backpack, but the Beam Rifle can attach alternatively to the Unicorn Gundam’s forearm. The Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee’s Shield is transformable, like the Mobile Suit, featuring an extended face and exposed psychoframe while Destroy Mode is active.
