MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee

The Unicorn Gundam Banshee is the second of three Unicorn Gundam prototypes assembled by Augusta Newtype Labs as a part of the Federation’s “UC Project,” which sought the creation of powerful Psychoframe Mobile Suits to eliminate all Zeon remnants. After its completion, the Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee underwent an additional testing phase at the Augusta Research Lab on Earth to determine the Mobile Suit’s viability in atmospheric combat. This model builds into the Unicorn Gundam Banshee as it first appeared during the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn OVA, featuring the Armed Armor BS and VN mounted to its forearms.

Articulation –

The MG borrows most of its assembly from the previously released MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam, providing a complete inner frame and a functioning cockpit. Bandai used an array of transparent yellow parts to represent the Mobile Suit’s psychoframe components built into the frame. The MG Unicorn Gundam Banshee provides a complete transformation into Destroy Mode, with some steps perfectly reflecting the Mobile Suit’s on-screen mode change. The transformation does require the removal and relocation of certain parts, reducing the overall difficulty of the conversion and helping to maintain the proper proportions in either configuration.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

The Armed Armor BS attaches to the right forearm of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee. This weapon contains a long-range Beam Smart Gun controlled via Psycho-Frame by the Banshee’s pilot. The Armed Armor VN uses large Vibrating Claws to latch onto and crush enemy Mobile Suits. The Unicorn 02 Banshee also includes two Beam Sabers stored in its wrists and two supplemental Beam Saber hilts attached to its backpack.

Note: Although not listed as an official accessory, this model includes all the parts needed to build the Unicorn Gundam’s Shield in the Banshee’s color scheme.
