RG #35 XXXG-01W Wing Gundam

The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam is the titular Mobile Suit of the beloved Mobile Suit Gundam Wing animated series! The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam is one of the five G-Team Gundams constructed for use during Operation Meteor. Of these suits, the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam shares the most in common with the original XXXG-0W00 Wing Gundam Zero design, including the transformation into a Bird configuration. The XXXG-01W Wing Gundam excels in maneuverability thanks to the pair of wings fixed to the Mobile Suit’s backpack. Both wings split into smaller sub-wings to help adjust the Mobile Suit’s speed. This equipment allowed the XXXG-01W Wing Gundam to fly around the in-atmosphere while in Mobile Suit Mode. This version of Wing Gundam recreates Kunio Okawara’s original mechanical design work for the animated series. Bandai has previously released the RG XXXG-01W Wing Gundam EW, which uses Hajime Katoki’s redesigned Wing Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Endless Waltz: Glory of the Losers.

Articulation –

The RG Wing Gundam is one of many early Real Grade models utilizing pre-molded inner frame pieces in its assembly. These parts combine hard and soft plastics to create large movable joint sections, to which builders apply additional frame pieces and armor over the pre-molded parts. The RG Wing Gundam utilizes very few premolded joints in its construction, an impressive feat for such a small Mobile Suit. Comparing the articulation and posability of the RG Wing Gundam with previous Real Grade renditions will demonstrate how far Bandai has come after a decade of Real Grade releases. The RG Wing Gundam uses twice as many pieces as its High Grade counterpart, providing much greater color accuracy on the 1/144th scale.

Weapons and Other Notable Attributes –

Each armament features updated designs loaded with surface detail without straying from the silhouette of the source material. These weapons feature the same excellent color separation as the Wing Gundam, providing some of the best-looking 1/144 scale weapons Bandai has ever made! Builders can remove all three Cartridge Pods from the Buster Rifle for some awesome reloading action. The Wing Gundam only sorties with a single Beam Saber, but Bandai included an extra transparent green Beam Effect to use as you please. The Beam Saber hilt hides inside the Wing Gundam’s Shield when not in use. To reveal the Beam Saber, fold the Shield in half to access the internal storage location.
